Guru Nanak Dev Khalsa Girls College Bathinda

Guru Nanak Dev Khalsa Girls' College is located in the centre of business hub of Bathinda city & thus it facilitates an easy connectivity to the student community. Founded in 1988 & affiliated to Punjabi University Patiala in August 1994, the college caters to all the needs of women-education in & around Bathinda. The college has excellent infrastructure in the form of airy & comfortable class rooms, well equipped A.C. Computer Labs., Home Science Labs., Fashion Technology Labs., Audio-Visual Teaching Aids, Computerized Library, Fine Arts and Music Departments, excellent Sports facilities and above all disciplined and dedicated faculty. The college is known for its achievements in academics, sports & cultural activities. NCC & NSS Units, Women Study Cell, Environment Club, Red Ribbon Club & Anti Ragging Committee are also working effectively in the college. Regular educational-trips to various historical & scientific centres of learning are undertaken. Special emphasis is laid on the aesthetic & moral values of life. Guru Nanak Dev Khalsa Girls' College is an institution with a vision for the over all development of its students.

Inspiration, Vision & Mission

Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji -The Founder of the most modern & scientific religion - Sikhism; also a great mystic & Poet, wrote sacred hymns on emancipation of women and social injustice. He preached oneness of God and asked his people not to believe in superstitions. His poetry is eternal and embraces the wholesomeness of Universe. It is in keeping Guru Nanak Dev Ji and his philosophy in mind that this institution has been founded and named after him.

The Institution aims at broadening the mental horizons of the students and to develop a global perspective in them. We envision to create model specimens of liberated Indian womanhood strongly rooted in time tested values.

Courses Offered

Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)

B.A. is a three year course, affiliated to Punjabi University Patiala. Candidate should have passed 10+2 from Punjab School Education Board or equivalent.

Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.)

B.Com. is a 3 years course, affiliated to Punjabi University, Patiala. Candidate should have passed 10+2 with commerce ( 40%) or 10+2 in any stream with 50% marks in aggregate.

Bachelor of Computer Applications (B.C.A)

B.C.A. is 3 years course, affiliated to Punjabi University Patiala. This Computer Learning Programme equips students with the practical computing skills one need in the study and research work. BCA graduates can look forward to excellent career prospectus within the computing industry or companies that use computers. They can get employment in computer field and also work as maintenance consultants, computer operator. Candidate should have secured 50% marks in 10+2.

Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Applications ( PGDCA)

This is 1 year diploma course. Candidate should have passed graduation in any stream from a recognized University.  This programme equips students with knowledge and skills to work in IT industry. 

Post Graduate Diploma in Dress Designing & Tailoring ( PGDDT)

This is 1 year diploma course. Candidate should have passed graduation in any stream from a recognized University.  After qualifying Student Can :- Teach in schools or colleges. Open a boutique or work as Dress Designer in fashion houses.* Act as a counsellor at various beauty parlours for dress designing. Hold exhibition/craft melas or work as Dress Designer for fashion shows.

Master of Science in Information Technology ( M.Sc. - IT )

This is 2 years post graduate degree course.  Candidate should have passed graduation in any stream from a recognized university.  Candidates with PGDCA with minimum 50% marks are eligible for lateral entry into 2nd year of M.Sc. ( IT ).

Master of Science in Fashion Design & Technology ( M.Sc. - FDT )

This course imparts vocational training to the girls so that they can economically be self- dependent & lead a very decent life in the present set-up of society. The college has taken a lead in introducing M.Sc. F.D.T. Top positions in the University are being bagged by the students of this college, Most of the students score more than 80% marks. Having completed this precious course, the students have been getting excellent placements in various field of Punjab. 
Candidate with minimum 50% marks in Graduation from any recognized university is eligible for this course.
